Deaconess Nicole Miller of Austin, Texas & member of New Hope Missionary Baptist Church, was recently named Lewis Lee Campbell Elementary’s Teacher of the year for the 2019/2020 school year. She will be a nominee for AISD’s Teacher of the Year for Elementary and Secondary Schools, which will be named at the conclusion of the school year. Mrs. Miller is a Gifted and Talented Certified First Grade Teacher at Lee Lewis Campbell Elementary for Media and Performing Arts Institute. She is a graduate of Southwest Texas State University with a Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies with a Specialization in Early-Childhood Education. Deaconess Miller is ESL Certified, has a Lifetime Certification for teaching in the State of Texas, a recipient of the Silver Apple Award from KEYE, CBS’s Austin Affiliate TV Station and recent inductee of the National Sorority of Phi Delta Kappa, which is an International Professional Organization for Educators.

Ruben Fowler, a native of Austin, Texas was raised in Austin’s East Side Community. He attended L.L. Campbell Elementary, Kealing & Lamar Junior High & Anderson High School as well as received his bachelor’s degree in Physical Education from Huston-Tillotson University in 1987. A 25-year veteran and retiree from Austin Fire Department, Ruben began his officiating career in 1991 while working with A.F.D. After 10 years of officiating grade schools, Ruben began officiating college and university games, with the Lone Star Conference & Conference USA, before moving on to arena football and NFL Europe. In 2006 he began officiating with the National Football League where he currently serves. The son of Anne Mae & Spencer Fowler, both loyal members of New Hope Missionary Baptist Church we salute you Brother Fowler on your accomplishments.
A native of Virginia's Eastern Shore, Deacon Anthony Sharpe has left his mark at Delaware State University (Delaware's Premier HBCU) as one of the school's legendary student-athletes. On November 16, 2018, Deacon Sharp was inducted into DSU's Athletic Hall of fame as the University's all-time tackles leader (350 career tackles) and fourth place in the school's sacks history (21.5 career sacks). During the school's 81-82 football season, Deacon Sharp's stellar performance landed him legendary records that year with 133 total tackles and 13 sacks, each a school record at the time. In addition to his accolades at Delaware State University, Deacon Sharpe also received All-MEAC honors in 1980 & 81 for his prowess on the football field.
Deacon Sharp earned his Bachelor's degree in Business Administration in 1983 from Delaware State University and now resides in Austin, Texas with his lovely wife of 35 years Lorrie. Deacon Sharpe is a member of New Hope Missionary Baptist Church, where he currently serves on the Deacon board, Men's ministry and other committee's.
